This is the correct cable for Sennheiser MD21-HL and MD421-HL microphones, which have a different pinout than the standard one. It will only work on microphones with this pinout.
HL microphones have both a high and a low impedance output, and this cable is wired for low impedance balanced operation.
The Sennheiser MD21 has a Klein Tuchel connector recessed in its case casting. Our standard Klein Tuchel connector sleeve will not thread onto this microphone, but this cable uses a different connector that will fit an MD21. It is not as water resistant as our standard connector, so is not recommended for outdoor use in wet conditions.
Please note that this cable will not work with MD21-N,
MD421-N, or any other microphone that uses the standard Klein Tuchel pinout. If you are not sure which is needed, see the Vintage Microphone Information Table or ask us.
