PatchMasterPatchMaster 2200E A MIDI command module for selecting patches, generating store requests and sending predefined messages. All 128 Program Changes may be sent on all channels organised as two banks of 64 containing eight groups of eight. As several of our current and forthcoming modules use MIDI Program Changes to select various settings this module provides an easy means of access to these advanced features. At the moment this includes Gearbox, SequenceMix and GateLogic. To send a Program Change first select a Bank and Group (if not already on the right one) by holding either Bank A or Bank B and then 1 to 8 to set the Group. Release the Bank button and then press the Preset number. To request remote storage press the Store button first and then a (Bank)/Preset number. A Select Bus* store request may also be optionally generated for Eurorack modules that use it, but transmitted from the MIDI port. If required, a simple hardware converter will be needed such as our MIDI Thru 12 board. When the MIDI button is on the 1 to 8 buttons transmit a predefined message list. All Sound Off, Reset All Controllers, and All Notes Off send the standard MIDI messages. Panic! sends a sequence of messages to clear everything the hard way. Four User defined MIDI events may be recorded by pressing Store, sending MIDI to PatchMaster, and then a number from 1 to 4 when finished or turning Store off to cancel. Holding the Store and MIDI buttons together sends a Change Channel SX message recognised by other Hinton Instruments modules, e.g. GateLogic, that have no direct Channel setting. Features

* Select Bus(Not the New York sort.) This was a good idea poorly implemented and consequently did not gain much support. It suffered from poor hardware design that conflicted with established usage and a misuse of established protocol. Any device capable of sending or receiving it is also fully MIDI capable so to limit the potential to only store and recall was extremely myopic.
Proper MIDI with full opto-isolation and format independence is the way to go, after all it was designed for synthesizers.
