Cable and Loom Lengths

For single core cables, you will need to specify a total length measurement only.

Two different measurements must be specified for looms. These are the total length of the loom, and the length of the tails, as pictured below.

For a custom loom, the tails length can be different on each end. Please specify this in the Details field of the quotation form.

It is important to make sure that the tails length is long enough to spread across the piece of equipment it is intended to connect without putting undue stress on the wires or connectors.

If the connections are in a row and fairly equally spaced, such as along the back of a mixing console or recorder, you can measure between the two connectors that are farthest apart and make the tails length approximately 2/3 of that measurement.

Remember that heavy looms may need to be supported to prevent strain.
